Bonmarche Queen's Jubilee Tea Party
01st June 2012
On Friday 1st June from 9.30am, staff at Bonmarché in The Octagon Shopping Centre will be holding a Queen’s Jubilee Tea Party in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Staff will be serving tea and cakes in the traditional British style and there will also be a raffle and lucky dip as well as a Book Event for shoppers to take part in.
In addition, customers can purchase a sparkling crown pin badge with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support. There is also the opportunity to send a congratulatory message to the Queen by signing a well-wishing book.
Carole Wakelin, manager of Bonmarché, said: “It’s a really exciting year for our country and I’m delighted that Bonmarché is getting involved. It’s a great way to celebrate an important milestone for the Queen whilst at the same time helping other people who are less fortunate. I’m looking forward to welcoming our shoppers in for tea with home-made scones and cake in the quintessentially English fashion.”
Peter Hardingham, Centre Manager at The Octagon Shopping Centre, said: “This sounds like the perfect event to kick off the Jubilee weekend for our shoppers. It’s lovely that Bonmarché are once again holding one of their Macmillan Cancer Support events and it’s brilliant to tie it in with such an important event for our country.”
